I just read an article in Good Housekeeping about BPA in plastics that we use for the storage of food (November issue 2008). BPA is not something with what the reproductive capacity problems and early puberty (among others) cause chaos. Did you know that BPA can leach into canned food as well? Yup, according to the article, chicken soup and ravioli were the worst. To Heck BPA to me about. It may not be something to feel that adults who want to take care of one's body, but in infants and young children, the introduction of small amounts in foods, etc. really are proportionally higher due to their small body. The FDA says the levels are safe, but according to a study in the article, Good Housekeeping, have cited problems with the levels of BPA 25-times less than that, says what the FDA has emerged safely. I threw all my plastic bottles and glass food purchased, and I am very picky with canned food, as I try to make the transition to the purchase of fresh food as possible. In relation to the child, she is with BPA free bottles, since I have about 2 weeks old (FEPS or breast milk) and I am currently studying, teething rings free, etc.

I am not one of the largest health at the top, kiss (less), but I give my child the best start possible. So this means that the BPA-free plastics, shampoos and lotions and, of course, when the time comes, the Biologicals (no exposure) to chemical pesticides. Another important issue are phthalates (I think, correct) - Other chemical found in plastics, the causes of early puberty and reproductive problems. Therefore, avoid plastics with the numbers 3 and 7 The article "Good Housekeeping" also stated that it was a plastic container that has filtered up to the BPA marked by a 5, so I will either not heated. Probably I am too paranoid, but I would rather be paranoid than sorry if the research tells us more clearly what are the long-term effects of these chemicals.

I agree with Mindy ... I care more about toys with lead, plastic. The 99 percent of my DD are plastic toys. Your jumperoo was plastic ... The Wanderer is the plastic piano. Everything these days is plastic. Lead is more dangerous than BPA. In addition, BPA is hazardous when heated the bottle. They will not heat your plastic toys LO. I know it's hard to care.
Hang ... and really, you can buy plastic toys for your child.

This, frankly, not on my mind! I think all the time, the press, he would have brought our attention for the moment, despite the risk. Not boiling water to a bottle containing BPA that the threat from? I can not get me wrong on this, I do not remember! I'm sure there were millions of children from plastic toys than they had and were very good and is an interesting point, although I do not think that my son will be in plastic, when that something is changing!

If the heating of the plastic toys that cook, then they can chew, they do not really need to be worried.

From my understanding, the leaching of BPA into food or liquids that contain them.

BPA is released only when the plastic is heated to a temperature. For example, if the sterilization of a plastic bottle. I BPA free bottles but do not worry too much about their toys, because people do not wash with warm soapy water.

I think, especially in protection. BPA has not yet been shown to problems in people who have little effect, that we still get that adults are constantly exposed to! I buy plastic toys. I am far more than lead.
